BBC film made at the Black Mountains Falconry Centre
starring BBC’s well-known Wildlife presenter Iolo Williams, titled:
“FLYING WITH KITES”
First televised on 1st March 2006, BBC1 (Wales)
It is all about Paragliding with Red Kites. Mr. Williams has taken special training in paragliding and in flying the Red Kites himself.
As reported earlier, we brought three young Red Kites to the Black Mountains Falconry Centre from Germany in May 2005 and they have since then been trained by Roger James. Unlike other Birds of Prey, the three young kites were specially trained to fly with a paraglider and the BBC film shows Mr. Williams flying “as high as . . . . and with the Kites” as the title suggests.
See some of the pictures taken during the film shooting. The camera is being operated by “our own” Martin Cray, who is very experienced in both paragliding and flying and hunting with birds of prey himself.
