Spend a morning or afternoon handling and flying various Hawks, Buzzards and Owls. Learn how to carry them, pick them up correctly, and tie them down safely.
This is very much a hands-on affair for those who would like to experience the thrill of birds returning to them of their own free will. Most people are ecstatic the first time that this happens, and many return to learn more about this ancient and wonderful sport.

One-Day Course
An introduction to the Art of Falconry.
This course includes: Feeding & Weighing of the birds, handling, basic training, equipment, as well as a walk through the woods with our Harris Hawks.
It is designed to stimulate and inform those who are considering the possibility of taking up Falconry sometime in the future. Most of the basic requirements of Falconry will be discussed, and we have a DVD for sale which admirably compliments the clients’ experiences of the day.

Three-Day Course
One of our more intensive courses designed to give the novice Falconer the basic skills & knowledge to enable him/her to train, (under supervision), a Harris Hawk or Red-Tail of their own.
There is still plenty of “hands-on”, but this course is more academic in nature, and will cover many more aspects of Falconry, such as: housing, health & disease, etc. bearing in mind that the client has usually expressed a wish to be more involved in the sport.
Again the DVD will prove an invaluable reference work,
making clear in the students’ minds some of the aspects they
may not be sure about after the course end.
If any clients have a problem after any of the courses, we are
only a ‘phone call away. A service that we are proud of!

Fancy being a Falconer for a day, or even an Archer?
Why not both! This day is designed to take you back in time to the days of Knights and Ladies of the court. In the morning you will have the chance to handle and fly Hawks, Owls, and Buzzards, Then take a “Hawk-Walk” in the beautiful gardens around our lodge.
After a break for coffee, you will then learn the basics of using a Recurve Bow in order to get you ready for a little Archery competition. Anyone can do it, it’s easy !

Archery Day
Learn and experience an ancient Art with a modern twist.
You will be taught the basics of handling a “Re-curve Bow” and be amazed how quickly you can become a good Archer. This is a sport where the ladies can compete with the men, and very often put them to shame!
